 With heavy hearts we, the family of George Edward ‘Skip’ Nash announce his passing on Sunday, April 8, 2012. Dad was born in Glace Bay on May 29, 1933, to the late Effie (Fricker) Nash and Herbert Henry Pittman Nash. While at a young age Skip’s father passed away and he went to New Haven where he was raised by a very special Aunt Grace and Uncle Tom . . .

He joined the Canadian Armed Forces and served his country proudly in the Korean War. George made a career of the military and served his country for 24 years . .He worked tirelessly for the benefit of other veterans through the Royal Canadian Legion. George was a member of John Bernard Croak VC branch 003 Royal Canadian Legion and served as zone commander for Zone 4. On Nov. 6, 2006, George went to Ottawa to receive the Minister of Veterans Affairs Commendation.

George is survived by his wife, Patricia (Clowater); daughter, Theresa (Blaise) Murphy; and sons, Kevin (Joanie) and Steven (Diane); . Donations may be made to the palliative care and St. Mary’s Anglican Church.

I wish to inform the Guards family of the passing of our Mother, Mrs. Eileen Allen, wife to the late W.O. AA (Tony) Allen, who served with the First and Second Battalions  Canadian Guards, the Irish Guards,  3 Mech Cdo. and the RCR, who passed in January 2004.

ALLEN, Eileen Violet Gladys (nee Hart) long time resident of Kincardine, passed away peacefully at Northridge Long Term Care Residence in Oakville on Saturday April 28, 2012 in her 86th year. Beloved wife of the late Tony Allen. Dear mother of the late Aiden (Helen) Allen of Kincardine, Paul (Jennifer) Allen of Mississauga, Stephen (Jennifer) Allen of Kincardine and Tony (Debbie) Allen of Burlington. Loving Nana of Shannon, Scott, Natalie, Derek, Victoria, Adrian, Christian, Martin, Sarah and Alexander and Great-Nana to Stephen, Aiden, Emily, Grier, Meredith & Paige. Remembered by her bother-in-law Dennis (Maureen) Allen of Dublin, Ireland and Sister-in-Law Mary Lewis of Southampton, England and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her brother Cliff Hart of London, England. Private family internment to take place at Kincardine Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.

Peacefully at the Elisabeth Bruyere Health Centre on Friday, May 4, 2012 at the age of 79. Dearly beloved husband of Joan Rossley (nee Mac Collum) for 58 years. Loving father of Jan (Robert Farvolden), Joyce (Kevin Wood) and Robin. Cherished grandfather of Robert, Ryan, Alexandra and James. Fondly remembered by his six great-grandchildren. Brother of Lois Mc Clusky (late Edward), Barbara Lamont (Eric), Mary Rossley and Victor (Johanne). Predeceased by brothers Reverend John A. Rossley, Donald and sisters Joan Mitchell and Betty Conway. Also loved by his many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Friends are invited to visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry 315 McLeod Street, Ottawa on Monday, May 7, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at 2:30 p.m. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions to the Elisabeth Bruyere Health Centre would be appreciated by the family.
